I have to search for a new internal audio recorder as soon as Google releases an upgrade to Android. Thankfully, from Android Q, I don’t have to switch to a new app for internal audio recording.
Internal audio recording is essential for crisp and high-quality sound recording.
Only rooted users will be able to indeed screen record with internal audio on their smartphones, excluding Android 10 users that don’t have to root their device.
It doesn’t mean you can’t screen record your Android. You can use a screen recorder without watermark on Android.
Don’t disappoint if you are a non-rooted Android user. I have a workaround method for you too. In this article, I am going to show you the best screen recorder apps to record internal audio in Android.

- Backup everything from your device before proceeding, if your data is crucial for you. It will be helpful in case something goes wrong.
- Sometimes the app does not record even if everything is working correctly. Try to clear the cache and data of the app.
Screen recording Android Pie could never be possible without this app.
It is the only app I have found that can record internal audio in Android Pie.
It is one of the smallest Screen recorders with all essential functionalities. Some of the features include

It can capture screen in Full HD(1080p), HD (720p) and 360p resolutions. It has different options like Mic, Internal audio(Mic + speakers), Internal audio (Internal audio only).

It also supports floating tools and can even capture screen in GIF format also.
RecMe is another app that can record internal audio until Android Oreo.
If you are using any Android below Android Pie, then you can try this as an alternative to ScreenCam.
Just like ScreenCam, it also requires an external plugin to be installed to act as an internal audio recorder.

You can screen records Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, etc. devices using any of these apps if not using a rooted Android.

No watermark is present in the free version of the app. Change the settings to make the app more personalized, change resolutions, frame rates, and bit rates available in the configurations.
The floating window lets you manage the app more easily. Other features like brush tools, Video editing, and GIF maker are also useful for making your video perfect.

ADV Recorder offers features like Drawing, pause/play the recording, trimming, etc. It supports all the major features, just like other apps in the article.

It is one of the simplest ways to record your screen without any extra memory. As this app comes preinstalled in most of the android devices.

It has built-in google games like PAC-MAN, Solitaire, Snake, and Cricket, etc. It is suitable for small video recording and if you don’t have any other option.

3. Internal audio recorder using an emulator
It doesn’t matter if you are a rooted user or not; this method will always work for you to record high-quality sound.
You can use an emulator to emulate the app on your PC and then can easily use any screen recorder to record the audio.
There are a lot of free emulators like Bluestacks, Remix OS, etc. After installing the emulator, download the app or game which you want to record.
Start recording in hight quality either with the internal recorder of emulator or using your PC.
Using the emulator you have two choices to recording the internal audio. Choose whichever suits you best.
1. How to screen record on Samsung devices?
Swipe down the screen to access the Quick Settings. Tap on Screen Recorder icon (left image) to start recording.
If you want to use an external player, you can use any app according to your device. I would recommend this Screen Recorder if you are on the Android 10 device.
2. How to record internal audio on Android?
Android 10 users can use this app (first app in the table of content) as it doesn’t require root.
For Android Pie or below, users use Screencam recorder. You have to be root to record internal audio.
3. How to record screen on Android without app?
The best way to record without any external app is either using the Inbuilt screen recorder or using the Google Play Games app (if it’s preinstalled in your device).
Start recording by tapping the screen recording icon from quick settings, and it will start recording. Similarly, you can start recording using the Google Play Games app.
After Google has exposed the internal sound recording APIs, now you no longer require to root your Android to record internal audio.
Up to Android Pie, you either have to root your device to truly record internal audio from the smartphone. You can still use an emulator to record on your PC.
